2026 Community Painted Mural

Hello!

Thanks for your interest in helping us paint a mural and beautify Westminster parks and open spaces.  We will be working with a professional muralist who will design and lead the painting of the mural.  We will be using exterior latex, water-based paint.  We will be painting the western face of the pedestrian tunnel that goes under Westminster Boulevard just north of the Westminster Sports Center.

Families are encouraged to participate.  This is truly an all-ages painting opportunity.  However, we ask that volunteers under the age of 15 be accompanied by an adult.  If you are bringing your little painters (say 5 and under), please know that you will be responsible for guiding their painting efforts so that we can all successfully paint the design as laid out by the muralist.  As fun as it can be to splash paint on a wall, this will be a designed mural that we will help the muralist paint.

Please park at the Westminster Sports Center.  Check-in at the Westminster Sports Center and then walk to the mural site.  Restrooms will be provided inside the Sports Center.

The City will provide snacks, water, and all painting supplies (brushes, rollers, paint trays, paint cups).

Please wear clothing that is appropriate for painting (i.e., not your favorite shirt!) and closed toe shoes.  Please bring a hat, sunscreen, and a water bottle.   

If the weather does not cooperate, we have a "weather date" of October 31 and November 1.  Those volunteer links will open to this group of volunteers if needed.

Volunteer Westminster Agreement
I, the undersigned, have read, understand and agree to the following conditions regarding the City of Westminster Volunteer Program. I understand that the activities involved with the program may contain an element of hazard or risk. I recognize the possible hazards and risks involved in the activities and take full responsibility for my participation in these activities and my physical condition.
I agree to indemnify and hold the City of Westminster and any cooperating agencies involved in the activities and any of their servants, agents, officials, or employees free and harmless from any liability, loss, cost or expense including attorney fees, which may result from participation in the activities. I agree that I am fully responsible for payment of all costs resulting from any injuries I sustain including the rendering of medical aid and ambulance services, and I authorize that all necessary first aid steps may be taken as prescribed by qualified personnel. I grant full permission to use any photographs, videotapes, recording or any other record of this program for any purpose. By signing below, I agree that I understand and consent to these conditions.
